
Join Our Queer AF 2025 Planning Committee
Queer AF, presented by Love Your Labels, is looking for passionate and skilled individuals to join our 2025 planning team. This is your chance to be part of an impactful event that celebrates LGBTQ+ art, fashion, and community while raising crucial funds for Love Your Labels’ programs, including our Threads Youth Fashion Program.
At this time, serving on the Queer AF Planning Committee is a volunteer, unpaid opportunity.
We’re seeking committee members to take on key roles and help ensure Queer AF 2025 is our most exciting and successful event yet!
Expectations for Participation:
Meetings: Commit to attending bi-weekly meetings through June. Meetings switch to weekly in July, 8 weeks before the show.
Task Work: Dedicate 4–8 hours per month to out-of-meeting tasks, with increased commitments in the two months before the event and the week of the show.
Collaboration: Actively contribute to your role and work collaboratively across teams to ensure the event’s success.

Folks who include resumes and/or cover letters sharing why you would like to participate, including relevant skills or experience you would bring to the committee will be considered strongly in our decisions.

Event Vision & Production Team
This team is responsible for bringing the overall vision of Queer AF to life, blending creative direction, production logistics, and operational oversight into a seamless process. From establishing the show’s artistic identity to managing on-the-ground execution, this team ensures the event aligns with its mission, values, and creative aspirations. The team focuses on cohesive collaboration across creative, production, and operational roles to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Establishes the vision, drives the strategy, and leads the creative direction of Queer AF. This role ensures the event’s mission and values are reflected across every detail and team. They guide the strategic planning process, oversee all aspects of production from concept to execution, and collaborate across committees to ensure alignment and quality.

Supports the Director & Executive Producer in implementing the overall vision and strategy for Queer AF. This role ensures seamless coordination across committees, tracks progress on milestones, and helps troubleshoot challenges as they arise. Acting as a key liaison between teams, the Assistant Director helps ensure all aspects of the event align with the creative vision, timeline, and goals. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.

Works closely with the Director & Executive Producer to manage the logistics and operational needs of Queer AF. This role focuses on day-to-day project coordination, assisting with timelines, task assignments, and communication between teams. They also help oversee the production process, ensuring that all moving parts come together smoothly. The Associate Producer plays a vital role in ensuring the event runs efficiently and supports the execution of key deliverables.

Oversee timelines, delegate tasks, and ensure alignment across all teams. You’ll be the point person for keeping the event on track.

Manage the event budget, track expenses and revenue, and ensure financial transparency.

Recruit, train, and assign roles to volunteers to support event setup, execution, and takedown.

Ensure the event is inclusive and accessible to all attendees and participants, including ASL interpretation, venue navigation, and more.

Coordinate outreach and activities for youth participants, oversee the youth balcony section, and develop youth-focused workshops.

Create a cohesive, inclusive, and immersive event atmosphere through thoughtful design and layout.

Lead all aspects of runway production, including coordinating with the Model Coordinator, managing model/designer pairings, and ensuring the runway show runs smoothly.

Recruit and manage relationships with designers, performers, and headliners. Serve as their primary point of contact.

Recruit and manage community models, coordinate orientation and fittings, and ensure backstage organization.

Oversee technical production, including lighting, sound, and stage management, ensuring everything runs seamlessly on the day of the event.

Oversees all aspects of the live production during the event, ensuring seamless execution from behind the scenes. This role coordinates with performers, designers, and technical teams to manage timing, cues, and transitions. The Stage Manager ensures that the show runs smoothly and resolves any on-the-spot challenges during the event.

Supports the Stage Manager in coordinating the live production. This role assists with backstage organization, communicates cues to performers and crew, and ensures all participants are prepared for their moments on stage.
Sponsorship & Fundraising Team
This team identifies and researches potential sponsors, in-kind contributors, and funding opportunities to secure funding support for Love Your Labels and the show.

Lead efforts to secure sponsorships, donations, and other financial contributions. Build and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors.

Research, write, and submit grant applications to secure funding for the event and Love Your Labels’ programs.
Creative Content & Press Team
This team develops our media and publicity strategy, oversees the development of promotional materials, and coordinates press and media outreach.

Develop and lead a comprehensive marketing strategy, including managing paid ads, outreach campaigns, and community engagement.

Handle day-to-day posting, engagement, and analytics for Queer AF’s social platforms.

Develop graphics, videos, and other promotional content for social media and marketing campaigns.

Pitch to media outlets, write press releases, and secure event coverage in local and national publications.

Compile and organize photos, videos, and other media assets from the event for promotional and archival purposes.
