Position Title: Grants and Finance Manager
Reports To: President & CEO, Board of Directors
Employment Type: Part-Time, ~60 hours per month
Compensation: $35/hr

Organization Overview:

Love Your Labels fiercely advocates for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and families. Our mission is to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth through art, fashion, and design and work with families and communities to create inclusive and loving spaces everywhere. Our programs, including Threads Fashion Design Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth and Drag Story Time events that promote literacy and reading together, emphasize community, creativity, and expression. As we continue to expand, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Position Summary:

The Grants and Finance Manager will play a critical role in securing funding and managing financial operations for Love Your Labels. This part-time position involves researching and supporting grant proposals, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The ideal candidate will be well organized and have strong writing skills, experience in grant research, and proficiency in bookkeeping and managing budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Research and Writing:

    • Identify and research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities.

    • Write compelling grant proposals and reports, tailored to each funder's requirements and aligned with Love Your Labels’ mission and goals.

    • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.

  • Financial Management:

    • Track and manage receipts, expenditures, and financial transactions, ensuring accurate classification and reporting.

    • Assist Program Manager, Board President, and Board Treasurer in developing and monitoring budgets for various programs and initiatives.

    • Prepare financial reports for internal review and external funders, ensuring compliance with grant and organizational requirements.

  • Record Keeping:

    • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including receipts, invoices, and expenditure documentation.

    • Ensure all financial activities are recorded accurately in the accounting system.

    • Assist in the annual audit process and prepare necessary documentation.

  • Collaboration and Support:

    • Work closely with the contract Bookkeeper, President & CEO and Board of Directors to align financial management with organizational goals.

    • Provide support in fundraising initiatives and donor communications.

    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant research and writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft persuasive and impactful narratives.

  • Basic bookkeeping and budgeting experience, including proficiency with accounting software such as Quickbooks.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT for ethical purposes to advance organizational goals.

  • Passion for supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and commitment to the mission of Love Your Labels.
